【題目】 Since last year, short videos have gotten millions of views online. Many people create and share short videos on popular video apps like Douyin and Kuaishou. You can also add music and special effects(特效) to your videos. The videos are 15 seconds to a few minutes long. They show people doing activities like cooking, exercising and singing.

【題目】 Chinese has a history of thousands of years. But Pinyin doesn't. It tells people how to pronounce(發(fā)音) Chinese characters. This year, Pinyin turns 60 years old.
In 1958, Chinese linguist(語(yǔ)言學(xué)家) Zhou Youguang and his team created Pinyin. Before that, Chinese people used many other ways to show how to pronounce Chinese characters. But these ways are not as easy to use as Pinyin. Because of Pinyin, more people learn how to read.
Pinyin is a big part of our daily life. We learn to speak Putonghua with the help of Pinyin. We write Chinese characters on computers by using Pinyin.
Pinyin is young. But it is now very popular outside China. It is becoming a bridge between China and the world. Many people around the world start to learn Chinese by learning Pinyin. You might say “nihao” to mean “hello” to a foreign friend.
People are using Pinyin more often than before. For example, fewer foreigners use “dumplings”. They like to use “jiaozi”. And “mantou” is for “steamed_bun”. The Oxford English Dictionary(《牛津英語(yǔ)詞典》) has more than 100 Chinese words in Pinyin, such as zhongguomeng for “Chinese dream”, and wanggou for “online shopping”.

【題目】 You get into an elevator(電梯). There is a button(按鈕) inside. You press the button. Then the elevator takes you to outer space. Does this sound like something from a scifi movie? In fact, it might become real in the future.
Scientists hope to build the space elevator by 2050, Science Daily reported. The elevator might look like an egg. It can carry 30 people. The trip is about 36,000 km and it may take eight days to get into space. And the elevator has a cable(纜繩). The cable is very important for the elevator. It should be very strong so that it can stand up to the high pressure(高壓). The cable connects the elevator to the International Space Station and the elevator goes up and down along the cable.
