A short Chinese man is one of the biggest men in the world right now（現(xiàn)在）．He is Jack Ma （Ma Yun），the Chairman （董事局主席） of Alibaba Group．On Sept.19，2014，Alibaba went public （上市） and raised 25billion （十億）．Ma，a former English teacher，has become the richest man in China．

Born in 1964in Hangzhou，Zhejiang，Ma grew up as a happy kid．When he was a teenager，he wanted to learn English．Every morning，he got up at 5a.m．，rode his bike for 40minutes to a hotel near the West Lake and talked with foreign tourists in English．He did it for nine years，rain or shine．

The experience made him an excellent English speaker and also opened his eyes to the outside world．In 1994，Ma Yun heard about （聽說）the Internet．And on a 1995 trip to the US，Ma was shown the Internet for the first time．He searched the word"beer"on Yahoo，and found that there was nothing there about China．Seeing the chance，Ma returned to China and set up（建立） a website called China Pages without even knowing much about computers．

Four years later，Ma，his wife and his friends set up Alibaba in Hangzhou．He believed in the Internet business potential （潛力） when few other Chinese did.15years later，Alibaba has developed into the world's largest e﹣commerce company （電子商務(wù)公司），owning popular shopping websites like Taobao and Tmall．

A teacher says music education in schools has kind of turned into amusement. Classroom lessons focus heavily on pop while understanding the classical(古典的) art form and its history should be paid attention to.

A Professor in music and music education at the University of NSW. Robert Walker, argues that all students should study the works of Western classical composers such as Haydn and Tchaikovsky.

Professor Walker says students are missing out on an important part of the culture heritage(遺產(chǎn))because they fail to study classical music, as the little music that children learn at school is mainly pop. The lack(缺乏)of music teaching is serious, especially in government schools where there are not enough specialist(專業(yè)的)music teachers.

A national review in 2005 made 15 suggestions, but Professor Walker said it still failed to deal with the lack of classical music taught in schools.

"I'm not against pop music, but it's very simple, and not difficult either to play or to sing,” Professor Walker says. "But classical music is challenging and although it is part of Australia's culture heritage, most children learn it only through Hollywood films."

"At least children should know what's happening in Western culture. It’s part of culture heritage," he says. "Asian students know more about Western classical music than most children in the west."

Professor Walker has taught music and music teachers in Britain, Canada and Australia and is a former chief (首席的) examiner for the International Baccalaureate and a former chairman of the research committee of the International Society for Music Education. Professor Walker says no school curriculum (課程) in Australia lists a piece of music that children should study, such as the Mendelssohn's.

"This lack of standard texts means that some children can be brought up totally on Western classical music, others on Elvis Presley, or on any music the teacher wants to teach. The situation should be changed as soon as possible," he says.
