Rick Garcia is going to play outside with his friends. He is taking out his reliever inhaler (緩解物吸入器) and taking two puffs (吸). Five minutes later, he’s on the field with his friends, running after a soccer ball. Rick has asthma (哮喘), but he knows how to control it.
Asthma is a lung disease. A person with asthma may cough or suffer from shortness of breath. Asthma can begin at any age. Childhood asthma, often beginning when a child is younger than 10 years old, is one of the most common childhood diseases. Doctors report that the number of young people with asthma is increasing. It is the number one cause of absence from school. If parents have asthma, their children are more likely to develop the disease. Children in homes where an adult smokes are more at risk.
It is important to find out the triggers for asthma. As we know, dust, pollen, or animals often make people suffer from asthma. Once a child learns the triggers, he can help prevent future attacks. About half of all children outgrow asthma and then asthma attacks stop when they are teenagers. However, many people live with the disease into adulthood.
Children often take control drugs once or twice a day to help prevent asthma attacks, if a child begins to have an asthma attack, a quick-relief drug is also necessary. This is often an inhaler. School-aged children usually carry their inhalers with them. This medication works quickly and children begin to breathe more easily in a few minutes. If a child has a serious asthma attack, he may need full-time care at a hospital or a doctor’s office.

Free energy is everywhere around us. There are many ways to make and collect energy from various sources like sun, wind and water. People also realize that everyday stuff can be a source of energy too. For example, riding a bike, running or just walking, etc. We simply have to change our way of thinking if we want to change the world.
So comes the idea of solar roadways. Are they the road of future? Why use roads just for driving and collecting tolls (過路費(fèi))? Why don’t we use them for collecting energy?
The US Department of Transportation recently awarded $100,000 to Solar Roadways to build the first ever Solar Road Panel. So how do these future roads work?
The Solar Road Panels will contain embedded (嵌入的) LEDs which “paint” the road lines from beneath to provide safer nighttime driving as well as to give drivers instant instructions such as detour (繞行) ahead. The road will be able to sense wildlife on the road and can warn drivers to “slow down”. There will also be embedded heating elements in the surface to prevent snow and ice buildup, providing safer winter driving.
Replacing asphalt (瀝青) roads and parking lots with Solar Roadway Panels will be a major step toward stopping climate change. Fully electric vehicles will be able to recharge along the roadway and in parking lots, finally making electric cars practical for long trips.
We just can’t wait to see more of these roads all over the world in the near future.
1.The first paragraph serves as a(n) ________.
A. argumentB. commentC. explanationD. background
2.When some animals are on the solar road, what will the road do?
A. Guide them to a safer place.
B. Remind drivers to drive slowly.
C. Frighten them away from the road.
D. Advise drivers to choose another way.
3.From the text, we can know that the Solar Road Panels can ________.
A. provide heat for drivers in winter
B. guide drivers who get lost on the highway
C. melt snow and ice soon in winter
D. help drivers see the road clearly in the sun
4.What is the text mainly about?
A. Functions of the road in the future.
B. Development of solar energy.
C. Free energy on the road.
D. Solar road of the future.

Questioning can lead to search for an answer. If we are in the habit of raising doubts as to if what we are told is true, we can find the correct answer and learn more.
Two years before, our teacher, Mr. Li offered us an answer to a difficult math problem in class. Because the answer seemed a little strange, nobody but I doubted it. Thought that his solution might be wrong, I carefully analyzed the problem and try to work it out in a different way. Half an hour later, I managed to find the correct answer. When I showed my answer to her, the teacher praised me for my dependent thinking.
From this experience I have been learnt that questioning can serve as a bridge helps us to seek the truth.

科目:高中英語 來源:2017屆西藏自治區(qū)拉薩中學(xué)高三上第二次月考英語卷(解析版) 題型:閱讀理解
While it is impossible to live completely free of stress, it is possible to prevent stress as well as reduce its effect when it can't be avoided. The US Department of Health and Human Services offers the following suggestions for ways to deal with stress.
Try physical activity
When you are nervous, angry or upset, try releasing the pressure through exercise or physical activity. Running, walking, playing tennis, or working in your garden are just some of the activities you might try. Physical exercise will relieve your anxiety and worry and help you to relax. Your body and your mind will work together to ease the stress in your life.
Share your stress
It helps to talk to someone about your anxieties and worries. Perhaps a friend, family member, teacher or even your leader can help you a better view of what's troubling you. If you feel your problem is serious, you might seek professional help from a psychologist or a doctor. Knowing when to ask for help is an important step in avoiding serious problems later.
Take care of yourself
You should make every effort to eat well and get enough rest. If you easily get angry and cannot sleep well enough, or if you're not eating properly, it will be more likely that you will fall into stressful situations. If stress repeatedly keeps you from sleeping, you should consult a doctor. Make time for yourself.
Make a list of the things you need to do
Stress can result from disorganization and a feeling that "there's so much to do, and not enough time". Trying to take care of everything at once can be too much for you and as a result, you may not achieve anything. Instead, make a list of everything you have to do, then do one thing at a time, checking off each task as it is completed. Set out to do the most important tasks first.
Go ahead and cry
A good cry can be a healthy way to bring relief to your anxiety. It might even help you avoid a headache or other physical effect of anxiety and stress.
1.What is most probably the writer's purpose in writing the article?
A. To release his or her working tiredness.
B. To help solve the universal problem of stress.
C. To strengthen his or her anxiety.
D. To have more people cry out.
2.Physical activity can help people release stress because________.
A. only your body movement can help you relax
B. your mind can work better to free you of anxiety
C. your body and mind can cooperate in releasing stress
D. physical activity doesn't play an important part in reducing nervousness
3.What is similarity between "Share your stress" and "Go ahead and cry"?
A. They both help you let out your feelings.
B. They both need physical movement.
C. They both require mental relaxation.
D. They can cause a headache.
4.The underlined sentence is close to the meaning of "________".
A. Strike while the iron is hot
B. More haste, less speed
C. Practice makes perfect
D. Quietness wins time
