I've finally made up my mind to go to America for farther study after graduation. I've been longed to go to America,mainly for two reasons. One is that I want to experience American culture,which is believed to have the most diverse in the world,and the another is that I hope to broaden my horizon in this developed country. But to telling you the truth,I have some worries about this. I don't have good command of English,especially spoken English,so Fm afraid Fll have difficulty fitting very soon. Besides,I may suffer from highly pressure from college courses,which I'm not sure I can handle with.

With so many things bother me,I hope you can offer me some practical advices. Looking forward to your reply.

I used to hate studying,because I felt I was bad in my studies. My score always 1       (belong) to the last ones. I really wanted to give 2         . I felt I was a fool. If you feel that your life is lacking the power that you want and the motivation that you need,sometimes all you have to do is shifting your point of view.

As the saying goes, "A fall into the pit,a gain in your wit. " Whenever we have a bad experience or we are in a terrible situation,we shouldn't do the negative things but turn into a valuable lesson,which can benefit for us greatly.

Several days ago,something happened taught me a lot. My brother accompanied me to the supermarket. We planned to buy some daily necessities. When we stood in front of the counter with the basket full of that we need,it was then that I realized I forgot to take the money which was left over on my bed. Finally,we had to walk home disappointing.

I felt sorry about it. And my brother comforted me,saying, "It doesn't matter. It seems to be a bad thing,but actually it can be a beneficial thing. It can make you to realize that we should get good prepared before we do everything."

Therefore,a terrible thing is not really terrible;it can also be under great benefit. It is the same with our studies in school.

Dear Daughter, 

As we drove off from Columbia,I wanted to write a letter to you to tell you all that is on my mind.

First,I want to tell you how proud we are. Getting into Columbia is a real testament of what a great wellrounded student you are. 1       College will be the most important years in your life. 2       " Education is what you have left after all that is taught is forgotten."What I mean by that is the materials taught isn't as important as you gaining the ability to learn a new subject,and the ability to analyze a new problem. The skills of learning will be something you cherish forever.

Follow your passion in college. Take courses you think you will enjoy. 3       Do your best in classes,but don't let pressure get to you. Most importantly,make friends and be happy. College friends are often the best in life,because during college you are closer to them physically than to your family. 4       Pick a few friends and become really close to them―pick the ones who are genuine and sincere to you.

A shopkeeper once found that a bag money had been stolen from his shop. He went to the judge and tell him about his loss. The judge ordered all the people of the shop to come before them. He took a large amount of sticks of equal length and gave one stick to each person. Then he said, "Come after me again tomorrow. I'll then know which of you are the thief because the stick given to a thief will be one inch longer than the others. " The next day,the people came to the judge,and he found one stick was more shorter than any of the other. Of course,the person which had the shortest stick was the thief.

What would you do if you come across a car accident? A few years ago,an American football player was seen as a hero for pulling some injured people out of a damaged car.

In order to enrich students' winter holiday,Bluesky Project has restarted. I think I have benefiting a lot from the project. During it I visited many famous museums,what I learned the knowledge that can't be found in textbooks and had my horizon broaden as well. To explore more about nature,I also went to Beijing botanic garden and had a close contact with plant,which made my body and soul relaxed entire. What is more,as a booklover,I couldn't miss the chance to go to bookstores in search for my favorite books. Beside,I went to play the basketball with my classmates. My body grew stronger through this daily exercise. In word,I have benefited a lot from this project,which kept me in a happily mood all through the winter.
